Weber Clarinet Quintet, 1st movt.

First movement of the Carl Maria von Weber clarinet quintet opus 34. I love this piece, it’s a show off work for clarinet, and it’s better written in some ways than the concertos. The string parts are boring though, so it’s hard to get a quartet interested in playing it. My Columbus Symphony colleagues in this performance had some other fun stuff programed for themselves after this quintet.

Best performance of this I have ever heard. Limpid, caressing.
